7/10/2024- The produce truck delivers tomorrow, so I was out of luck for eggplant.. Also wanted their Kimchee but the new kitchen is not finished.. When they do finish building the kitchen the fresh food will be sold.. Opted for a bottled Kimchee, and the staff said it was good.. Also picked up a lotus root and kabocha....

I love Yims so much. Their kimchi is so amazing we get the big tub of it! We also like to get the Korean bbq meats. They have a great variety of foods and snacks all in one place.

Yim's is so great for ingredients you can't find many other places in Reno! For me, it's daikon and options for cod roe (to make mentaiko sauce). They have really great prices on produce. The staff is always busy but friendly and welcoming. They can help you find exactly what you need. Ambiance is always Work In Progress, it seems, but it's never hard to navigate and find what you need still. Their frozen section is worth browsing if you're wanting to try something new. They always have a great selection of kimchi, as well. We always look forward to our next visit to discover something new!

My favorite Asian market by far! The service is always so friendly and nice. I love the variety of Asian veggies- fresh and fairly priced. I also love all the different ramen noodle soups towards the back of the store . Also my go to for joy favorite kimchi. This store is always clean and pleasant. Thank you for the outstanding customer service with a smile, always. :)

Had the bright idea to celebrate my birthday with some DIY at home KBBQ so I set out for Yim's to snag some staples and prepared meats, but when I arrived I noticed a lot had changed. For starters, I could swear they sold frozen bulgogi and other marinaded cuts, but all I saw were containers of the thinly sliced unmarinated meats like brisket and pork belly. The brisket was $15/lb and my container was two pounds, which was a bit surprising to me. Pricing on these containers was tricky to determine, with some showing by the pound and others per container numbers, so look closely. Then we set off for banchan, which I KNOW they used to make themselves. Well that's gone too :( We did find some decent packaged options and bought a few of them. So with no meat I had the idea to hit up a butcher shop on the way home, so we grabbed some KBBQ marinades, green onions and delicious little mushrooms, Asian cooking staples like sesame oil and soy, and a few frozen Korean sides like japchae and seafood pancakes before taking off. The marinades we bought were solid and worked quickly to flavor the meats. Everything turned out delicious and I'm already thinking about doing this again in the near future.

After visiting every Asian market in Sparks/Reno, Yim's is the best. The vegetables can be a hit or miss but every time I've been there, I have been able to find something that was fresh. Many of the other Asian markets I've been to don't have any fresh produce. I can understand the reason though...I noticed at Yim's, the employee was replacing a box of wilted Bok Choy with a fresh box. There were 2-3 boxes of wilted vegetables sitting on the side. What a waste that they are not able to sell it quick enough before having to throw it out. Hopefully with this review, people that are looking for Asian produce like Gailan, Bok Choy, etc., know they can come here. Sure, you can drive over the hill to shop but I am able to get what I need at Yim's without spending the time and gas to make the drive. Overall, the prices are reasonable. If you are looking for the rooster brand of Sriracha, this place has it and the price is better than three weeks ago when I was in San Francisco. Definitely worth a trip here for your Asian grocery shopping.

I love coming to Yim's! I have been coming here ever since they opened a few years ago because of the reasonable prices. There is a good selection of fresh veggies, frozen foods, snacks, alcohol, fresh kimchi, and an aisle of ramen! The staff are really nice too! Back when they opened, the owner would be there to help check out and he is extremely kind. One of the things I dislike about coming here is the parking. When they get really busy, you have to either wait or park on the far right side with more parking and walk over. It is not that big of a deal, but more parking would be nice. During certain days of the week, they make fresh japchae and kimbap and sell them for a good price. It's authentic and delicious! Yim's is one of the only Korean markets in town so definitely come here if you want a good selection of Korean food.

Today is our Sparks Asian Supermarket Tour. 1 out of 4. My favorite of the 4 we visited today. Quality/Quantity - Tuesday and Friday - Roast duck delivery $18; I just paid $25 in San Francisco. Kim Chi made fresh daily. Atmosphere - Small clean local Asian supermarket. Love the exterior paint job, see picture. Huge ramen section. Good size Korean side dish section, and seems like they have good prices also. I will need to study more on my next visit. Most importantly, they have a decent selection of Asian alcohol and beer! This Asian business has slightly more of a Korean focus. They also have Japanese and Chinese products. Produce, seafood, and grocery departments Open 7 days a week. Small parking lot in front, but be safe because it is off a main road. Also another parking lot on the side. Service - Good, friendly. Price - Fair prices, especially compared to the expensive SF/Bay Area prices. But compared to the other 3 Sparks Asian supermarkets, the prices are comparable. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1988 and with a 3rd generation family business.

For the Reno/Sparks area, this place seems like the largest supermarket of the Asian persuasion. Not 99 Ranch size, but much personable and helpful than 99. First off, the cashier was most certainly helpful with patron questions. She helped a bunch of people clarify about the variety of veggies they have. I learned stuff, too. They do carry greens, turnips that may not be available at mainstay supermarkets. **They truck in sweet buns from a bakery from LA. Many are sweetened with a variety of beans, peas and creme. They are individually wrapped in cellophane and are right by the cashier.
